Interview
Interviews were relatively straightforward. The first was more focused on personality fit and actual content of prior position. After a first round I was asked to write-up one of my investment ideas. Again, pretty standard. The second and final round was filled with technical questions and assessment of hypothetical scenarios. They are heavy into option-value analysis and impact of low-probability events on security pricing. I was also asked to interpret certain credit agreements and opine on live situations in the market. Personalities were very laid back, and it's hard to imagine a nicer group of people running $2B+ in some pretty litigious investments.
Interview Questions
Hypothetical scenarios where you're asked to opine on relative value or embedded options. They are big on Wall Street's tendency to mis-price low probability events.
There were some very specific questions around bankruptcy process and bond indentures. Understand absolute priority and restricted payment covenants.
