Summer Analyst
General Interview Information
Interview Details
Was called a few days later asking if I would be in town in the near future (I was located out of state at the time) and I was planning a trip to NYC the next week with friends, so they asked to meet that Friday that I arrived.
After some phone call check ups the day that I landed, I went to the office and was greeted by the current analyst who informed me that everyone else was out at a pitch. We chatted for around 30-35 minutes very casually back and forth and was told about the company, what the position would be involving, etc.
After that half hour was up, the partners and MDs arrived back at the office, where I proceeded to meet with one of the partners 1:1, then two of the MDs 2:1, then the individual I had been in contact with during the whole process.
The interviews were fairly simple: explaining the firm, deals, background, etc. Basically just asked about my resume and my "story" and then I just listened the rest of the time.
After all of the interviews were completed, I was told that they were going to evaluate firm structure and deal flow and make their decision based on that. About a week later, I was notified that one of their larger deals had fell through and they do not have enough workload to take on an intern, but will keep the option open for the future.
