Investment Banking Analyst

Knew an analyst in the group, applied online and had him refer me internally. Completed a suited assessment, then had a fairly simple technicals focused (Brain Teaser, 3 Statements, types of valuations, high-level LBO walkthrough) virtual first round and then straight to a superday.

Superday was 5 virtual interviews, 30 minutes each: VP, MD, VP, MD, Associate. First (VP 1) and last (associate) gave me technicals. Third (VP 2) was entirely behavioral, asked hypothetical questions around autonomy, responsibility, dealing with clients, etc. Technicals were DCF walkthrough with numbers given, 3 statements walkthrough with numbers given, Paper LBO in-depth, different types of debt in LBO, WACC calculation, IRR/MOIC, Treasury stock, Accretion/Dilution.

Also, something to note. Fourth call (MD 2), he downed a Red Bull in a hotel room (said he was out of office) in the first 2-3 minutes of the call and then proceeded to turn off his camera and say "Don't worry if I don't say anything, I'm here".
