Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I am from the Chicago suburbs and I go to Boston College so when recruiting for Blair I targeted analysts who grew up in the Chicago suburbs. At Blair, their applications release separately by product group (and then one for coverage group generalist). I was lucky that I networked with a lot of people specifically in the Corporate Advisory Group and made good connections with most of them. The group is very small, but I was fortunate to get a first round. The first round was one-on-one with an analyst and it was a 30 minute all-technical interview. Since it was the M&A Group, it was more focused on M&A questions. Some questions were harder than others but I prepared a lot so was not too bad. This was late February. Couple days later got invited for a Superday, and it was scheduled for the day after. Superday was four 30 minute interviews with an MD, VP, VP, Associate. With MD all resume and behavioral questions. With first VP behavioral and technicals like tell me about a deal, following the market type questions. Second VP behavioral and technical questions - these technicals were not the normal technicals, I think he just wanted to see how you thought. Associate was behavioral and technical. Got the offer a day later. In summer, HR contacted me that the group was dissolving because head was leaving to another bank, so now will be in a coverage group in Chicago and will do group placement in the winter.
