Interview
HR lady called to arrange interview with the senior investment officer. Subsequently, two rounds of interviews: tested on basic finance and some quant ability (Senior Investment Officer is a Financial Engineer from Columbia). Expect probability questions henceforth.
Interview Questions
They had me underwrite a deal - I had to analyze cash flow and consider the business in terms of industry and the state in which the business was located. Also had to perform asset screens as the firm only makes investments in the form of secured loans. WBL mostly takes real estate as collateral, the interview test only used Single Family Residences as collateral so you could perform comps with Zillow rather than have to be granted access to Costar. Was asked to justify comps used and challenged on the exclusion of other properties.

Interview
Had a phone interview with HR. Then went in for an interview. Was told the interview was going to last between 30 minutes to an hour. Ended up speaking with about 5 different people and it lasted 3 hours. Simple excel test that was pulled offline that a third grader with no excel experience could pass.
Interview Questions
Nothing was very difficult. They gave me a simple IQ test which I was easily able to answer all five questions correctly. The questions asked on the iq test was like seventeen times thirteen and asked about basic excel functions. One of the questions asked which excel function on the following list is not a real function used by excel. I don't remember what the exact answer was to that question but some of the choices were if and sum so it really was a simple interview. Nothing was unexpected or difficult.
