We started Wyatt Matas & Associates almost 10 years ago because we wanted to be true advisors to our clients. The larger investment banking firms where we had worked focused exclusively on the transaction, rather than the holistic needs of the client. We found ourselves to be unique investment bankers since we have all taken time away from investment banking at some point in our careers to run our own successful non-financial businesses. Our experiences allow us to relate with our clients' personal challenges of leading their organizations, while providing the strategic guidance owners need and expect from a top-tiered investment banking firm.

Why Wyatt Matas & Associates Many business brokers and investment bankers miss the mark because they have lost the ability to think strategically and focus too much on the transaction. They often miss opportunities to identify nontraditional buyers or buying opportunities that might fill a strategic gap. Because of our relationships with our clients, we are in tune with the potential valuation discounts and can strategically position the transaction to minimize those weaknesses either before going to market or during the deal process.

Who We Serve We focus on serving companies in the lower-middle market. We found that these businesses typically shy away from the large minimum fees required by the big investment banks, but need that level of advice. Our company structure and experience as business owners and at larger investment banks allows us to deliver big bank expertise to the lower-middle market at reasonable rates. The demographics of our typical client includes:

Revenues: $10 million to $75 million Industries: We are generalists, with specialties in Business Services, Healthcare Services, and Industrial Manufacturing Typical Client: Business owner or partnership considering an exit strategy or strategic options. How We Serve Because we take a long-term view of client relationships, we do not have to pressure our clients into an engagement to buy, sell or restructure. In fact, it is common for us to be informal or formal advisors to our clients long before an actual engagement letter is signed.
