Princeton Recruiting
I'm currently an incoming sophomore at Princeton. I've been reading this site for quite a while and see people throwing around random figures for placement for ivy league schools. From my personal experience, it seems as though so many Princeton students are unsuccessful in landing BB, EB, or buyside gig. Princeton is not even ranked in the top 10 for WSO's list of target schools for IB, HF, consulting, etc. As someone who is interested in breaking into IB or ER at one of these firms, I'm wondering if anyone who has experience doing on campus recruiting, interviewing, or resume reviewing for Princeton applicants can share how we are perceived during the process and how much of a target we are compared to other similar caliber schools? Also please share what are the things I can do besides networking, studying guides, and getting good grades to maximize my chances of breaking in.
Dude, you'll be fine. Princeton is probably only behind Harvard for IB recruiting. Just get a good gpa
I feel like most people on this site won’t be familiar with any of HYPSM’s recruitment or anything because it’s out of reach for just about everyone. I doubt you would get a more solid answer here than by just contacting an alumni or career advisor.

Sorry I’m a noob
I went to HYPSM, I don’t think you’re at all disadvantaged in how people look at you. Potentially there’s less of an in-place pipeline (not sure since I didn’t go to Princeton) but I guarantee it’s something you can easily make up for through a little extra proactivity (networking, self study, etc). All else being equal you’re going to be looked at no differently from a kid from any other top tier school.
Princeton actually places quite a few kids into the buy side right out of undergrad, usually into MM but also some MF. In general, what I've learned from friends/coworkers from Princeton is that 100/week BB gigs are not the dream for many students.
