Taking an idea from the existing "book" thread, I decided to create a movie one. Does anyone have suggestions as to the must-see movies? Both business and non-business related.
Business:
WALL STREET
Boiler Room
The smartest guys in the room (only watched half, let me know if it's worth watching)
Thank you for smoking (Errr...kind of. More political)
Non-Business:
Boondock Saints
Airplane!
I'm more interested in the business ones. Thank you!

It's funny how no movie
It's funny how no movie based on Wall St. or Finance in gerneral is in a positive light... Its always about criminals and white collar crime...
As far as other movies that "changed or influenced" my life... Well, I guess the only other ones might be military/war movies, as those are really the only ones where I have ever felt a sense of pride after... I could argue Superbad did too, but it didnt change my life, it just portrayed my high school life perfectly, as I have had probably 90% of those conversations before in my life... And after that, the only movies I have ever watched that have impacted my life are usually cult movies (which only a hand few of people ever heard of), where afterwards you feel so digusted for watching them, that it affects your ability to sleep or function normally for a few days ;)
Im interested in hearing how Airplane or Boondock Saints "influenced or changed" your life haha... I guess I could understand ones desire to join an Irish mob... But Airplane? hahaha still a great movie though
Re: Any movies that changed or influenced your life?
Films which influenced my life: anything with Humphrey Bogart, but particularly Casablanca.
"I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy mixed up world.”
The genre of Wall Street-related films to which you refer is irrelevant to “real life”, in my opinion; however the films themselves are very entertaining. “Thank You for Smoking” is hilarious.
If you still have the luxury of being a student and are at least somewhat interested in film as a medium, this would be a reasonably good place to start: http://www.imdb.com/chart/top
The Godfather Fight Club
The Godfather

the pursuit of happiness
Well Smith's movie
the pursuit of happiness
really moved me.
