I'm not as attractive when clean-shaven.
I look too young. I'm sure most of us look more attractive with just a little stubble or scruff. So my question is... how much is TOO much and how much is acceptable? (in a professional environment)

Career Resources
Depends on the firm. I would always interview clean shaven though, wait and see if others at the firm have facial hair.
Assume a BB
depends, are you male or female?
hahaha, wish I had a few SBs left.
Only Brazilians.
You should be clean-cut for an interview, you being a 2/10 instead of a 1/10 isn't going to mean jack to a recruiter. Ugly.
Unless your religion requires you to have some sort of facial hair, I would just bite the bullet and make sure you shave everyday until you have developed some type of legitimacy in the office. Always play it safe if you're unsure.
im assuming his only religion is money.

I hate shaving and I especially hate shaving every day. My face will feel like dildos for half the day. I like how I look unshaven too. Is it alright to have a 2-4 day's growth going at work?
My company is really laid-back and we don't have a dress code. I usually wear jeans and a sweater or whatever. But my boss is always clean shaven and I don't wanna offend him or whatever. Maybe that's just his preference though. I interviewed in a suit, so they know I can clean up.
Don't see how a beard would get in the way of your bongo playing, unless I am missing something?
LOOOOOOOOL
OP, just look around at your work/group and see if there is at least one relatively seniorish person that has any facial hair and then you basically have a green light. What's more important than having zero facial hair is being well groomed...get a beard trimmer and make sure it doesn't get too thick. As long as you put effort towards looking decent no one should say anything unless you work at one of those elitist stick-in-the-ass places that view a single strand of hair on your face like a malicious affront to the whole organization. What people don't like at most places (except for like HF or tech, which are more purely meritocratic) is not facial hairs themselves but an obvious lack of effort towards your appearance.
I work in equities at a BB in London... have sported a 2-5 day stubble since day one and nobody has ever raised an eyebrow.
Given that you don't even have a dresscode (I stll have to wear a suit), I'm quite sure you can do whatever you want with your facial hair.
Give it a go... if your boss doesn't approve he will let you know (directly or indirectly). It will help if you make sure you look even more presentable than usual in all other aspects (hair, shoes, clothes...).
If anyone asks just tell them you might be activated and sent to Afghanistan at any time. No one will question your beard any more.
I'm a trader and sometimes I go weeks at a time without shaving. I don't even remember the last time I've shaved myself. My fiance just takes a buzzer to my face and cleans me up when it's time.
My firm does not allow facial hair.
If you show up with stubble, you will be directed to the nearest convenience store at which you can buy a razor.
Or you could take a vacation day...
at movember u actually have an excuse for not shaving, for charity.
I hardly ever shave my pubes at work..
How often do you guys shave? (Originally Posted: 04/14/2013)
I mean people who are working ... not some retired person like Eddie.
I can get away with shaving twice a week, whereas someone people like BlackHat have to deal with the 5'o clock shadow.
I should shave every day. I do shave every 1-3 days.
I keep an electric shaver to my face at all times
twice a week? i hate you...`
Our faces?
Hardwood floors?
Casual attitude at my office so I do twice a week. Should really do every other day. Monday morning and Wednesday morning for the rugged look on Friday nights.
Every day unless I'm really late/hungover on a Friday
everyday, weekends included.
Casual office, so basically as needed. Probably every 4 days. Might just use a trimmer to even out stubble.
I often go 2-3 days without speaking to anyone I work with face to face, so the pressure really isn't there.
head shave - three times a week face shave - three times a week other head - once a week
once or twice a week honestly i would shave more but my skin is real sensitive and shaving everyday makes it get real irritated luckily my spot don't care
Shave once a week, trim every day.
I should shave everyday. I shave every other day. But i look better if i shave everyday.

Twice a week
Pluck my hair - once every 2 weeks.

S,T,Th cuz I'm lazy and have girly sensitive skin.
7 am and 1 pm, Monday through Thursday, never on weekends.
shave every morning, hair is already back when I leave the office at night... :-/
Every day, keeps the clean image up :)
use a buzzer on '2' setting about once a week...usually every 2 weeks
I went M/W/F last summer during my SA stint, hopefully I can get away with that for FT because any more frequent than that fucks up my neck.
Everyday would be best but I can get away with every other day. Basically shave Sunday night, Tuesday night and Thursday night. Weekends, never
twice a week
I didn't know people didn't shave daily during the week.
Are you guys going to hit puberty any time soon? :p
If my office cared, I'd have to shave every day. Currently i'm on three weeks no shave. I'm thinking on growing it out till memorial day and then shaving it off for the official start of pool/beach season.
