I'm just waiting for Will to nominate CompBanker.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

AndyLouisi'm waiting for brady to nominate hbs, & flake i'm surprised you didnt nominate yourself ;)

I want to give the others a chance. I get pretty humble around the holidays.

I'll nominate IlliniProgrammer. He brings a unique viewpoint that is very valuable to prospective monkeys and industry professionals alike. He generally articulates himself in a professional manor despite all the folks that think he is crazy. He continues to volunteer his time to be an active member of the boards. Overall a great member to have in the WSO community.

I nominate Monty - he is going to be hard to beat. I mean... he got The Goldman to come to his Energy Rodeo... How do you compete with that? :-)

Seriously though, monty deserves it - I always see him helping/offering to help monkeys.

RagnarDanneskjoldSince the Dow poll is almost over, I say we go pure democracy on this one.
yeah good idea, hoping for 4-5 solid nominations first and then will try to get a poll up.

I'm gonna nominate CompBanker as I think he does a great job of only truly posting on what's important (i.e. he doesn't get sucked into the divisive political threads and bullshit lifestyle/gossip threads the rest of us dick around with). He just give great advice from an experienced perspective.

I'd also be fine with monty or Illini as stated above, they're definitely key contributors that add material value to the site. i think any discussion for poster of the year should also include Eddie and Marcus.

Whoever said blumie should realize he hasn't even posted this year.

Nouveau RichieWhoever said blumie should realize he hasn't even posted this year.

Not just this year - it's been a good 2+ years since he left. However, since his departure we have all felt the warmth of his legendary spirit watching over WallStreetOasis, which is why he should be nominated every year.

In no particular order

1) Eddie 2) CompBanker 3) Illini 4) Monty 5) Bondard

I second Eddie. He should at least be on the ballet.

I am permanently behind on PMs, it's not personal.

swagon speaks the truth

Just like with the banks/consulting firms, it's kind of hard to put one person as a stand-out member (there are about 10 or so "top" members and probably another 50 or so that contribute a shit ton.

I'm going to go ahead and nominate harvardgrad08. He has made a pretty epic thread on corporate jobs, something we didn't have a lot of info about before.

AndyLouisOfficial poll is up at http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/polls/who-is-2011-wso-member-of-the-year
Are we permitted to run a campaign to support our cause? I'd happily participate in a live debate against the other candidates!
hahaha sure but whatever you do don't wake up the conspiracy theorist trolls from under their rock by creating 100 fake accounts & voting ;)

Flake

One of the few users who's always able to see the bright spots and advantages of even the worst of jobs. Always kind and courteous to those users who ask obvious/annoying questions. Has moved on but still speaks fondly of his back office days.

I agree. Flake is a gentleman and a scholar.

i nominate the anonymous monkey, the chimp who is a hero in his own right yet hides from the world and never shows his true face. The monkey who rejects all SB's and endures monkey shit not because he wants it because he can take it. The hero WSO deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So trolls will hunt him, because he can take it. Because he's not a hero. He's a single guardian, a watchful protector. The Anonymous Monkey.

NebularWhy isn't blackfinancier an option?

This guy has the right idea.

The answer to your question is 1) network 2) get involved 3) beef up your resume 4) repeat -happypantsmcgee WSO is not your personal search function.
