Summer intern

I interviewed with two managers for an M&A internship at Air Liquide. The discussion covered both my motivation and my technical understanding of mergers and acquisitions. They asked why I wanted to join Air Liquide and why I was interested in M&A.

The technical questions focused on explaining the main stages of an M&A process, describing the principal valuation methods, and defining a letter of intent (LOI). Candidates should be comfortable discussing comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow valuation, as well as the purpose of an LOI within a transaction.

My advice is to prepare a clear explanation of your interest in Air Liquide and corporate M&A, research the company’s activities, and review the fundamentals of valuation and the acquisition process. Practice explaining these concepts clearly and concisely.
