I cold-called the firm to see if they had a spot for an intern during the school year. They had one opening. I received an informal phone interview later that week. After that, I had a group interview with the different advisors at the firm. During the final interview, I was asked only behavioral - no technicals. Really, I think they were looking for the right fit.

Interview
The interview process had several parts to it. High level, there are 2 rounds (1 on campus, 1 at HQ). Round 1 were behavioral questions, fit questions, and then accounting/equity/credit research specific questions. Round 1 was 2x 30 min interviews with a 1st year analyst and an experience analyst.
Interview Questions
Given ten dollars in depreciation, how does this affect the three statements?
What would you think about as a credit or equity investor?
What are some ratios to think about as a credit research analyst versus a equity research analyst?
How is credit different than equity research?
They also gave an accounting or company analysis case but I didn't get to it because we talked a long time about an equity pitch I made. They really dug into my thesis points and asked every perspective about why I thought the way I did about it.

Interview
The first round was a phone interview with an Analyst invovling questions on investment philosophy and stock pitch. Next was super day - where i met with 5 analysts for 4 hours - back to back interviews with analysts and PMs.
Interview Questions
there wasn't one difficult question - I had discussions on comapnies and industries with the PM's which were hard to keep up. We discussed energy companies and they asked my perspective of how IMO 2020 is impacting the shipping industry, logistic companies and refineries - who are expected to benefit from the implementation of the regulation. And if there is a prospective company whose valuations are interesting. Then he asked me about the competitive landscape of the shipping industry and my opinion on the recent bankruptcies.

Interview Questions
I was asked about my interest in investing, why I had interest in the particular team, why my skillset would be useful to the team, and also about my experience with coding and financial modeling. There weren't really any tricky questions or questions that were hard to prepare for. Overall the interview process was smooth and I enjoyed speaking with the different members of the team. I was also asked to explain my roles at each of my previous work experiences. I was not asked very many technical questions in the interview.

Interview
Simple behavior questions w/ hiring manager.

Asked about previous work experience

Asked what did I know about the company

Why wealth management? And what did I hope to gain from experience
Interview Questions
Primarily behavioral questions

The most difficult question I ran into, because I was not prepared, was tell me about a time you took control of a situation at work in opposition to your colleagues. Another question that could be perceived as difficult was tell me what you know about our company it seemed as if they were looking more for what exactly did you know about the wealth managers in that office. The other difficult question was how are you different from the other candidates, this can be difficult if you did not prepare for it.

Very relaxed, spoke over the phone with the operations manager and she just wanted to get to know me and speak about my qualifications. After that, I went in for an interview and met with her again and spoke with the investment specialist at the company to outline what I would be doing and talk about my past experiences. Interview was very casual, just asked about a few things on my resume. Very friendly people.
Interview Questions
As mentioned earlier, it was all just easy get to know you questions. But, the investment specialist asked me a few questions about my knowledge of specific software that the company uses such as Thomson Reuters and Morningstar. But, being my first internship in business I had no real experience with either of these things so I just had to be honest and switched the topic to some business platforms/ software that I did know how to use. Also, I was asked about my knowledge of some blue chip stocks which I had little to no knowledge of.

Very nice fit interview. Even offered to pay for my travels. One phone interview and then personal interviews with 4 people. I felt I impressed almost everyone of them (one guy even welcomed me aboard in an email) and of course the head guy offered travel expenses. However I think one guy didn't like that I didn't commit to having my entire career be in trading. He's an idiot and I'm glad that guy's not my boss, frankly. Everyone else seems great.
Interview Questions
Where will you be in five years? Even though the company is not just trading (and every other interviewer was selling me on how I could make a career as an analyst there) the one idiot cock blocked my application there because I didn't say that I wanted to be a trader under him until he retires.

Interview
Initial phone interview before being invited in to speak. Invited into a 1 on 1 face to face interview after moving past phone portion. Interview consisted of various background questions, motivations for wanting the position, future goals, etc. No specific testing besides FIT questions regarding the capability to work with other employees.

At end of interview, I was told to go and sit with a current employee to speak/work with them.

Accepted position at end of interview.
Interview Questions
I would not specifically name anything overly difficult or unexpected, although, I am naturally comfortable during interviews and FIT questions.
