What did the interview consist of?
Phone Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I received my initial interview through cold e-mailing alumni of my university. They had an online application portal, but I did not go through that.
My first phone interview consisted of mainly behavioral type questions. The goal was to determine my interest/passion level in the position I was applying for.
After that the only technical questions were basic financial modeling questions, however they taught financial modeling as part of their program, so it did not matter too much if you didn't have great knowledge.
After my initial phone interview an in person interview was setup about a week later, however both myself and my interviewer had to cancel on two separate occasions, so we conducted a final round interview over the phone. This interview was generally focused on determining hours I'd be able to work, compensation, and my time to ask anything I wanted to know about the company/position.
About 4 days later I received a phone call from the Sr. Analyst I had cold e-mailed and was offered the position, and told I'd be working under him. The day after that I received a phone call from the companies Head of Research to confirm.
