HR reached out for interview request ~3 weeks after application. Set up 40 minute call split up over 2 parts. Back to back interviews with a full time application developer and a senior application developer. Mostly behavioral with typical resume based questions. No leetcode/dsa testing, but know ins and outs of your resume and any design choices you may have made in your projects, and also basic coding languages/libraries. Make sure you can speak to everything on your resume and clearly communicate all points found on it.
Interview Questions
Nothing difficult or out of the ordinary. Most difficult was "tell me about some Python libraries you have used and where"

Interview
Had an initial HR screen (video interview), followed by two in-person interviews (one with an MD) and a superday, which consisted of a full day of interviews. One of the SD interviews was a modeling test, another was a case study, and the rest were traditional behaviorals.
Interview Questions
Tricky paper LBO?

Didn't prepare too much for this, but even someone who did the basics beforehand wouldn't have flown through. There were some trickier science/math aspects to the revenue build which I don't think you can really prepare for. Meant to be a bit of an intelligence test in my opinion, in addition to the modeling and financial basics.

1 on 1 Interview
Background Check
Interview
1. First two rounds are standard cases with associates. Very similar to traditional consulting cases in terms of flow, but just a focus on if a company is a good investment or not. Not super technical but was prodded about how specific dynamics might impact the financials
2. Super day. Again more case style questions but also up to interviewer. Was asked general questions about how I would diligence a makeup company, some random accounting questions, and a case about an airport company. Was also asked random off the cuff questions like "what's SOFR at, what do you think will happen to interest rates etc". Behaviorals added throughout but generally very open-ended structure.
Interview Questions
What's the current SOFR rate?

What are some things a makeup company should think about in regards to revenue?

Three rounds - first HR round, asked me a few behavioral questions and why Bain Cap. Then moved on to a case interview with a VP, finally a case interview with a partner.
Interview Questions
They asked me to value a constrction company's value and whether they are worth it for Bain to loan credit to them which really caught me off guard given how technical it was

Interview
Lots of one-on-one virtual interviews with the team. Had a three-day take home case to prepare that involved a ton of data crunching and analysis, answering questions they posed to me. (Wasn't a full LBO but effectively a bunch of number crunching on MOIC and IRR across investments.) Had to present my analysis with the hiring manager. Also had an extensive in-person superday.
Interview Questions
Take home case had me in a loop the first 24 hours, for sure. Threw my off guard but I was able to figure it out.

Around 3 weeks after I applied I had a 20 minute phone screen with HR followed by a 30-45 minute case interview with an associate.
Interview Questions
I was asked to calculate the price of a ticket for an airline based on a few figures about the airline and could then ask the associate for more information which he could choose to provide or not. I was also asked why airlines historically provided poor returns but have seen an upturn in the past decade.
