Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Interviewed for 1st year analyst position in BofA Merrill Lynch's Global Energy & Power Group. Specific office / team was focused on upstream oil & gas, specialized in sell-side M&A and A&D advisory. Opening came about due to departure of two experienced analysts and the deal team was shorthanded. Was put in touch with the VP / staffer on team and introduced to them. Had two phone interviews and one super day interview where I met the whole team sans the Vice Chairman in the office. First choice for the role was a lateral hire from another BB's energy group but he declined. I got a call from the same staffer and they offered me the position which I accepted.
