Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied online to Bank of America for a commercial underwriting analyst type position. It was in their Chicago office doing mainly manufacturing/generalist type investment grade debt underwriting. I applied online and got a phone interview. I interviewed with two different people on the phone. They seemed in their low 30s. It was a little unconventional from the standpoint that the interviewers seemed sort of distracted or uninterested for some reason. They also asked some real industry specific questions including the auto industry and economics type questions which I wasn't prepared for. I think the type of underwriting (large corporate versus middle market what I was used to) was different between my current job at the time and the Bank of America job so maybe the industry/economics type questions were fair. Overall, not too much of a positive or negative experience. I did not get a phone call back to set up another interview.
