Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was selected for the accelerated process. My first round was over the phone with an associate in E&P. It was a mix of going over my resume and technical questions. She asked about my past work experiences and some bullet points I had on there. Only technical was about how the three financial statements linked. I went into a lot of detail so she stopped there and asked if I had questions. The superday was 3 panel interviews, but my last interview was with just one person, a VP. The first panel interview was tough, the Lev Fin VP grilled me on my corporate banking experience and the associate from healthcare asked follow ups. No technicals, just resume stuff and why BAML after the "tell me about yourself". Second panel interview was much more laid back. It was with a VP from TMT and one from Sponsors. Standard "tell me about yourself", then again with the past internships. Why IB, why BAML. I told them I was interested in their groups and why after they asked about the different valuation methods. I left out LBO, to which the sponsors VP raised an eye brow, I quickly added it. Then I somehow ended up doing a super simple LBO, I guess he wanted to know if I knew what I was talking about. TMT Vp asked about DCF after that, then got really technical with why UFCF etc. I answered everything well and then it was just a conversation from their on. Last interview was with a FIG VP. Super chill guy, asked how the other interviews went. It was mostly a conversation. Asked why IB, why BAML, why I was interested in TMT and Sponsors, told me about his career, why FIG etc., and wished me luck when time ran out.
