Summer Analyst

Started with an early insights event, with the option for summer applications to be considered early ahead of other applicants. Started with a Hirevue with basic questions, proceeded to second round interviews which consisted of two 2-on-1 30-minute interviews back-to-back with analysts through to VPs. These were primarily technical questions about basic formulae, valuation techniques, and accounting. A large portion of the interview was about a recent deal the bank advised on, with markets-based and technical questions based on what was discussed.
For final round interviews, I interviewed with five senior members of the team - two MDs, each 1-on-1, and a 2-on-1 with a director and a VP together. These were more focused on past experiences, market knowledge, deal knowledge, and cultural fit, with the odd technical question thrown in.
