Contacted by HR for an interview, saw a team member with a 30 mins call. The team member didn't focus on technical aspects but rather on very personal questions which made the interview go very awkwardly thus making the idea of interning there fade as the interview goes on.

The hiring process starts late. I think they are targeting 50% kids with overseas background and 50% kids educated in Chinese universities. Nothing too unexpected during interviews, mostly basic technical questions. However, some of the questions are asked in Chinese (including a self-introduction)
Interview Questions
The most difficult question for me was the self-introduction in Chinese. Since it was supposed to be "international," I did not expect anything to be asked or answered in Chinese. However, they didn't seem to have a general rule as to which language to use when it comes to interviewing, which made it pretty difficult. Another question they asked that I thought was difficult was "Tell me some good investment opportunities in the tech industry in China." They clearly required a good understanding of different industry trends in China.

The opportunity to be interviewed was great, waiting time was long. easy interview, personality and fit questions mainly. by HR manager
Interview Questions
the interview was very easy. no difficult question if u were to ask me, the toughest question was about why am i interested in corporate banking and why work in a china bank. It was not unexpected but the HR/hiring manager asked further about your personality and interest. My guess she was trying to find out about my personality fit to the role. My answer was simple, basically to share with her how my family in banking and extra-curricular activities in school influenced me to pursue/try out corporate banking.

Interview Questions
There not too many hard questions. The HR guy asked me about my resume, and just basic experiences. For example, what I learned from this, what I learned from that. Nothing difficult whatsoever, although do make sure you have an answer for why Bank of China (obviously). Interview with VP was again very similar; they asked more scenario questions, such as "If you have competing deadlines, how would you manage this."
