Summer Investment Banking Analyst

Started off with info-session which allowed for networking event after. Students who made an impression or had previously networked (myself) were then invited to a smaller, invite only networking session. Half the candidates from this event were selected for on-campus first round interviews.

On campus consisted of two upper level interviewers (VP & MD). Standard questions, mostly behavioral with a focus on ethical decision making, teamwork, academic collaboration. One interviewer attempted to stress test (slightly) but it was not uncalled for. DCF & LBO (conceptual) were used for technicals.

Superday was three, 30 minute interviews all with MD's or more senior. This took place on the actual floor of the bank and required the interviewees to locate the interview room and manage his or her own time. All interviews were 1 on 1 and all behavioral. I was asked to do a DCF but once I started delving into the nitty gritty (i.e. showing I knew more than just the basic steps) they cut me off to move on. Fit is the most important part of the interview process.

Called the following Monday with an offer, received in writing next day.

I was courted heavily the entire process and called every 2 days until I accepted the offer, which had a two week expiration date.
