Please describe the interview / hiring process.
After on-campus recruiting info sessions, and initial resume-screening, I had two 30-minute first round on-campus interviews, followed by two 45-minute second (final) round interviews in-office, which they flew me up for. Was lucky to have very good interviewers in my first round, both of whom I connected strongly with. Second rounds were more challenging from the perspective of failing to establish the same connection with my interviewers. First round interviewers were a manager and senior consultant (or equivalent titles), and the second rounds were both with partners. My experience with consulting interviews (having recruited first and second round at all MBB, and many other firms), is that much of one's success is determined by factors that are beyond one's control. Assuming all individuals are equally prepared to tackle the case, what determines whether or not one receives an offer is one's connection with their interviewers, which is wholly out of one's control. Found the practitioners to oddly fit the BCG stereotype of being highly academic, etc., but were all very nice, interesting people, which is true across most consulting organizations.
