Investment Banking Associate

I was forwarded a posting from LinkedIn from a managing director at the firm and sent my resume in a personalized note. He contacted me to set up a time to talk. That first conversation went well and I was handed off to a current associate for a second phone interview. I was mostly interested in learning that individuals background in the hope of learning what it might take to land an offer. Overall it was relatively unstructured in the sense that it wasn't a rapid fire Q&A but rather more conversational than I might have anticipated. They were seeking someone that could come in and hit the ground running as they don't have a formal training program.
