Please describe the interview / hiring process.
BlackArch recruited on-campus. First contact was a phone interview with a partner and an analyst. Was conversational in nature and primarily behavioral. On-campus recruiting was also with a partner and an analyst. This round was much more technical with questions on financial statements, the M&A process, math questions and a few off the wall ones (more below). Super day was at the office with nearly all the officers of the firm in attendance, and a marathon of interviews with each. All had different styles, ranging from accounting questions to the history of BAP to behavioral. Overall an positive experience. The firm as a whole was friendly and open to questions. Recently founded at the time (2010) so pushing hard on the potential of the platform. Very client-focused culture, with analysts only taking on 2-3 deals at the time but having a higher level of personal responsibility for the deal throughout the process.
