Investments -

I had an interview with BlackRock's PAG last year, and that experience was pretty good. Unfortunately, this year, for their FI team in the Investments group, my experience was not so positive. The first round was a video screen, where I had to record a video response to some basic questions. That wasn't the problem - the problem was that, for some reason, their application system didn't notify me when I got selected for a first-round phone interview. It was only until I actually checked my application status that I found out that not only had I been selected for a first-round, but the deadline to schedule the first-round had already passed. Of course, I would have met the deadline had they sent me an email telling me about the deadline. But there was no contact whatsoever. I checked my spam box many times.

I saw that there was one time slot remaining, so I signed up for it through their online applicant system, and then followed up with HR. HR confirmed the time and date, and I thought I was set. But on the day of my scheduled interview, no phone call ever came. I emailed HR, and they said they'd get back to me. They responded (after I followed up) after 4 days, saying that they could no longer accommodate me for a first-round interview.

Overall kind of disappointed. BlackRock was definitely one of my top choices, and I feel like none of this would've happened if their application system had just emailed me in the first place...
