Applied online through the BlackRock careers portal with a CV and application questions. Shortly after, I was invited to a one-way HireVue video interview with a deadline of a few weeks to complete it. There is no live interviewer at this stage: each question appears on screen, you get a short preparation window, and then roughly one to two minutes to record your answer, with limited or no retakes.

The questions were behavioural and motivational rather than technical: why BlackRock and the role, examples of past experiences, and how you approach work. My advice: research Aladdin and what the specific team does, have three or four solid stories ready that you can adapt to different questions, and practise speaking to a camera with a timer so you finish your point inside the limit. State your main answer in the first sentence, look at the lens rather than the screen, and do it somewhere quiet with good lighting. After submitting, I was told I would hear back on next steps.
