Reporting Analyst

Applied online with cover letter and resume. Got an email asking if I was available for a phone interview. Scheduled the interview and the HR rep called right on time. We talked about the role, the team, the fact I needed to relocate, and salary.

Then I was asked to walk through my resume. I talked about how my degree was chosen b/c I like financial markets and how the clubs I was in and the thesis I had written were all in line with the goal of becoming an analyst. She then asked what kind of job I was looking for and I basically reiterated the job description I had been emailed. I was then asked why investing and I told a story about how it had fascinated me since I was 6 years old. I was also asked why Blackrock and said I like the investing strategy that they had taken and the lobbying efforts that they had made for financial reform.

At the conclusion of the questions the HR rep told me the interviewing schedule for the next set of interviews and I would be getting a call back by tomorrow.

I was then asked if I had any questions. I asked if I should ask about more job specifics now or wait for a follow up. I was told wait for the follow up. I then asked about a time line on the follow up b/c I had a final interview with VW the next day. She told me to keep in touch and if needed I may be able to get them to accelerate their hiring process.
