Summer Analyst

I had networked with a friend from college who was a few years older than me and he informed me of the technical nature of the interview, so I studied hard. After applying, I received a first-round interview (along with 28 others) in late January. The first round interview was a 2-on-1 with one 2nd year analyst and one associate. The interview was very technical. I got the typical "tell me about yourself," "why banking," and "why Blackstone" questions to start, but then the remaining questions were all technical finance and accounting questions. The interview ended with a brain teaser that I was able to figure out.

I then was invited to the super day in New York which was about a week later, along with 8 other Wharton students. 3 of us ended up working there full time, so I would assume that 3/8 received offers. The super day consisted of 4 back-to-back 1-on-1 interviews with directors and vice presidents of the group. These interviews were very similar to the first-round interview in that they were highly technical and hardly qualitative outside of the aforementioned usual questions. It was fairly cold and uncomfortable, but I apparently handled it pretty well, as they called me a few hours later presenting me an offer.
