Interview
The process was rigorous and highly structured, moving from initial recruiter screenings to technical assessments and culminating in a final round with senior leadership.

Initial Stages: The process began with a standard recruiter screen followed by deeper dives into my background in Engineering and finance.

Technical & Practical Evaluation: A significant portion of the process focused on market knowledge and product placement. I was asked to demonstrate an understanding of the Ibovespa, sell-side research, and hedge fund operations. A key highlight was a presentation/roleplay scenario where I had to demonstrate how to "sell" the Bloomberg Terminal to a hedge fund manager, focusing on its data analytics and real-time market insights.

Final Round: The final "Super Day" style interview took place on April 2nd, involving senior leadership from both the New York and Brazil offices. This stage was heavily focused on cultural fit, professional presence, and high-level strategy.
Interview Questions
"Explain the primary difference between the sell-side and the buy-side. If you were speaking to a hedge fund manager on the buy-side, what is the 'elevator pitch' for why they need a Bloomberg Terminal?"

Interview
After submitting an online application, you first complete a short assessment where you rank various personality traits. If you pass that stage, you receive an invitation to complete a HireVue video interview consisting of six questions. You can retake the questions multiple times before submitting. The questions focus on your interest in Bloomberg and the role, along with typical behavioral prompts such as describing a time you disagreed with a teammate, overcame a setback, or demonstrated sales experience.

If you advance, you are invited to the Superday. It begins with a brief introduction from HR followed by a technical aptitude test. The test is straightforward, mostly covering Excel fundamentals like basic formulas and pivot tables, along with a few simple programming questions involving data frames. Although 45 minutes are allotted, most finish in about 10 minutes.

Next, you shadow two analysts to observe their day-to-day responsibilities. It is mostly observational with limited interaction. Afterward, you move into the final interviews with two managers, one from Sales and one from Analytics. Expect questions about your understanding of the role, career goals, background, customer service philosophy, and views on how AI could impact Bloomberg.

The interview includes a sales simulation where you respond to a scenario such as how you would handle a client wanting to switch to a competitor like FactSet, demonstrating communication skills and knowledge of product differentiation. You are also asked to do a short role-play pitch, such as selling a show or a trip to the sales manager.

Overall, the process is structured but friendly. The team is laid back, professional, and welcoming throughout the experience.
Interview Questions
I expected to be asked to sell the terminal, so I prepared for that, but the question about selling a trip caught me off guard
I was also asked to explain a concept I learned somewhere in simple terms
I was ased to talk about my background in Python since the role has more code demaning

Personality Test
Interview
I received a personality test to assess fit with the position. The test is structured to assess if you have the necessary personality traits to succeed at a sales job. Since it is a client facing role, it seemed like the more of a herd sheep you are, the better you fit with the job.
Interview Questions
No difficult questions per se. However, the answer structure makes sure that you choose a specific non-vague answer. A lot of the times you will have to choose the lesser of the two evils.

1. I did hirevue for summer insight program and after that I selected as one of the top performer so did not have to do another hirevue nor phone interview.
2. My first interview was 30 min of culture fit questions and 30 min of technical like doing roll play calling the customer and some problem solving based on the situation facing client.
3. Second interview was with the director and it was an hour of interview. It was both technical and personality check. He mainly asked about my experiences but I had to answer everything with deep details. There were chains of questions and was quite hard to answer some of them.
