Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied to BNP Paribas through a employee referral. The said referral was a 2nd Year Associate, and knew the VP running the hiring process. I submitted my resume through my referral, and was emailed by the VP's Staffer about 1 week after my resume submission. The Staffer and I organized an In-Person Super-day, which consisted of 4 interviews, each with a different member of the M&A team. Two of the team members were VP's (one was the VP running the hiring process) and then an associate, and then an analyst. The first interview was pretty laid back, walk me through your resume, tell me about some recent deal experience, etc. As I got through explaining one of my recent deals, he started to ask more about basic technical questions such as:
1. Can you get to FCF from Net Income?
2. Walk me through a DCF?
3. How do we calculate WACC?
4. What is Cost of Debt in the WACC equation?

After those, the VP opened it up for me to ask questions about the group. The next three interviews were all very straight forward. The last interview with an analyst on the team consisted of me describing what I had worked on within the DCF, and what drivers we used to go forward into projected years. Other than those questions, everything was nice and casual.

After this fist interview session, I was invited back after 3 weeks to interview with a MD and another associate. The MD just had me walk through my deal experience, and my background. The interview with the Associate was a bit more technically heavy:
1. Walk me through a DCF?
2. Walk me through all of the valuation methods?
3. What do we use to calculate Discount Rate in a DCF?

After these questions the Associate opened it up for me to ask questions. The process took around 10 weeks, and I never got a reply back from the Group or the Bank....obviously I am assuming they moved on with the hiring process.
