Summer Analyst

Got the interview through OCR, and like an idiot, sat in the wrong waiting room and didn't hear my name called (off to a great start). I was a nervous wreck (had NO IDEA what I was getting into), but my interviewer could tell, and tried to put me at ease before he started asking me questions.

I come from a non-finance background (econ major, no relevant work experience), and I was asked exclusively very typical fit questions (when did you work in a group/talk about a challenge you faced/what's your greatest strength). The interviewer kept telling me how I didn't fit the profile throughout the interview. I completely shot myself in the foot on a couple of questions because I panicked and said something dumb.

Overall, though, I got along well with my interviewer, and we ended up talking about where we grew up, since we were from the same area. I know I gave off the impression of being completely unprepared, so I'm not surprised at all I didn't get an offer. Though, I would say it didn't go nearly as badly as it could have.
