Sr. Specialist -Operations
General Interview Information
Interview Details
Anyways, I also was selected to interview for a few positions recently, the first of which I'm describing here. That position was a "senior specialist" operations job.
A few months after initially applying for it, I received a phone call from an HR worker who arranged an interview for me to take place the following week at 525 William Penn Place. The interview itself was relatively laid back—basically just a discussion with the group manager about the specifics of the job, my education, and my work style.
A few weeks later, I interviewed for another position at BNY Mellon. During that interview, I mentioned the interview for the first job, and, since I was growing a bit impatient waiting to hear back from the first interviewer, I asked how long it typically takes BNY Mellon to follow up. The two interviewers noted that Mellon moves slowly as an organization, and that I could probably expect a response about two or three weeks after the interview.
So finally, five weeks after my first interview, I received an email informing me that I was no longer under consideration for the senior operations specialist position.
Bottom line: BNY Mellon might be a nice company to work for, but its hiring process is decentralized, slow-moving, and a bit disorganized.
