Interview Details

What did the interview consist of?
1 on 1 Interview
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I got in touch with BCG by attending and presentation at McGill university. After an hour long presentation from associates all the way up to partner. This was followed by drinks and snacks where we could network with the consultants. I asked for numerous business cards and followed up the next day. Everyone I talked to was very nice and helpful. Overall the culture appeared to be quite friendly, yet competitive. They seem to pride themselves on excellence and that was reflected in the presentation.

I eventually reached out to a few consultants to see if I could set up an interview for a summer internship. Brief background: At the time of the interview I was finishing my Master's thesis. Although it was unlikely that they would take a soon to be done master's student for their summer internship, I wanted to gain some experience and hoped for the best.

The interview consisted of two 1 on 1 case interviews with a project leader and a consultant. They were back to back interviews, lasted 30 minutes each and followed an identical format: 5 minutes of CV/general questions, 20 minutes of case interviews, and a couple minutes for concluding remarks. I dressed in business attire which was appropriate.

They got back to me after one week.
