Interview
I applied for the job posting I saw on the young real estate professionals job board. They called me and asked me to come in for an in person interview where I met with one principal and the head of the lending practice. They liked me enough to invite me back to meet with the 2 founding principals. Once all 4 individuals got together and realized they liked me, they had me put together a writing and financial analysis sample so that they could evaluate my capabilities as a financial analyst.
Interview Questions
I only received 2 difficult questions-
Q: If you had $100M to invest, what would you purchase? Would it be real estate/stocks/bonds/etc?
A: I stated that I would solely invest in real estate as that was my passion and expertise . I would split up the $100M amongst multifamily/office/industrial/ and retail.
Q: Have you ever been confronted with an ethical dilemma? If so, how did you react?
A: I was very honest about a situation I was faced with during my first internship in undergrad. They appreciated my honesty and the fact that I admitted to a wrong doing and learned from my mistake.
