Please describe the interview / hiring process.
The interview process was pretty straightforward. Started off with a 1 on 1 screen via zoom to make sure you weren't a robot. Tell me about yourself, why IB, why BGL, etc. plus one technical. The second round was split with 10 minutes behavioral and 20 minutes technical. Was asked things pertaining to basic accounting, valuation, with a couple of questions that actually challenged technical knowledge outside of the 400. Received the SD offer 3 days later, and then had it about two weeks after the second round interview. Three 2-on-1 interviews, starting with associates, moving to VPs, and finally to a MD. Behaviorals were very fit based and technicals were centered around MM scenarios. Definitely could study the 400 for these but would advise to know the reasoning behind them. Got the feeling (contradictory to what is mainly said on forums) that although the employees worked a lot, they were still friendly and enjoyed working for BGL. They made comments on culture and the things they were trying to do not only as a firm but a branch to improve the company.
