Long process with three rounds and fairly technical. The questions were often tailored towards sell side processes as the firm mainly sells to sponsors. The entire team was super friendly and made me want to accept the offer. Overall they do a great job with the process and I think it would be a fun place to intern. Some things are unclear about the firm and hiring process, but overall was pleased with the process and learned a lot through it.

The toughest questions were math related/Paper LBO

Interview
The interview process was pretty straightforward. Started off with a 1 on 1 screen via zoom to make sure you weren't a robot. Tell me about yourself, why IB, why BGL, etc. plus one technical. The second round was split with 10 minutes behavioral and 20 minutes technical. Was asked things pertaining to basic accounting, valuation, with a couple of questions that actually challenged technical knowledge outside of the 400. Received the SD offer 3 days later, and then had it about two weeks after the second round interview. Three 2-on-1 interviews, starting with associates, moving to VPs, and finally to a MD. Behaviorals were very fit based and technicals were centered around MM scenarios. Definitely could study the 400 for these but would advise to know the reasoning behind them. Got the feeling (contradictory to what is mainly said on forums) that although the employees worked a lot, they were still friendly and enjoyed working for BGL. They made comments on culture and the things they were trying to do not only as a firm but a branch to improve the company.
Interview Questions
What valuation methods would be primarily used to value a MM company?

Interview
Applied online and was contacted over the following week by the leading HR person at the time to inform me I had a first round interview. First round interview was all behavioral with one technical question with a first year analyst. Notified a few days after that I had advanced to the second round. Second round interview was with an associate and was all technical questions ranging from advanced accounting, enterprise/ equity value, DCF, some LBO questions and one math question. Immediately notified an hour later that I advanced to the super day. The super day consisted of 3, 30 minute interviews with 2 on 1s. Received the offer a few days after Superday. Two months now before starting, have to complete wsp courses and exams with the excel exam being a separate company based exam, NOT THE ORIGINAL WSP EXCEL CRASH COURSE EXAM.

Began with a screening interview with Hr. Asked behaviorals and one simple technical. Also takes location preference - Cleveland or Chicago. They want to put you in Cleveland. Moved on to a technical interview where they went into topics that are covered in the 400 guide. Started to get to the more advanced concepts but nothing crazy and nothing that was very unexpected. After that received Superday. Two interviews with two VPs each from their Chicago office. Simple technicals relating to a hypothetical company's capital structure. Received offer same day.

Interview
Applied Online, began networking through linkedin with analysts, associates, and VP's. First round interview was a 1:1 with an analyst, 2nd Round was 1:1 with an associate (all technical interview) and the super day was three 30 min interviews with varying seniority (2:1) through all interviews
Interview Questions
I wouldn't necessarily say any question that was asked was overly difficult. A lot of the questions asked you could study through the IB guides. One superday interview was based off of more relevant knowledge (how well do you really know the industry)
At the time was asked my forward looking opinion on the M&A market and IPO market leading into the summer months
Very intense about what is on your resume and asked follow up questions about responsibilities during those experiences
(BE CAREFUL**) when responding to the questions on your resume, you add fuel to the fire depending on how in-depth you go with your answers (DON'T TRY AND BEST SOMEONE)
Basic DCF questions, Valuation Questions, NO MERGER MODEL / LBO)

The interview was three 30-minute interviews with two interviews on each call. The interviewers were a variety of positions from analyst to MD. It was a mixture of questions about behaviorals and markets with a couple of simple technicals at the end of each interview. Overall, a pretty simple interview process.
