Internship
General Interview Information
Interview Details
After around one month I was called up for a group interview with an analyst and 5 other candidates. It took around one hour with general fit and knowledge questions, nothing extreme.
After around two weeks I was called up to my first superday and two weeks later I had a second. Each day had 4 interviews with 1-3 people in the ib team, ranging from analysts all the way to partners. Technicals were average (focused on leveraged cash flow and assumptions), culture and fit was highly pressured (more than any other interview I had), but something that stood out were tough logic/brainteaser questions on multiple interviews.
I’d recommend candidates focus technical and market study on critical thinking (why are x assumptions made, what companies would I invest in, etc.), as this is what most stood out from other interview processes I took part in. Obviously networking is important so get in touch with 1-2 analysts at least, and brush up on 3-4 recent deals.
In terms of office/culture insights the bank is known for having an extremely aggressive culture; those who stand out climb up quickly, those who don’t, won’t last long. It is one of the toughest work/life balances in IB, but worth the trade especially if you, as a Latam candidate, don’t think too much about a career abroad.
