General Interview Information
Interview Details
- Started with a phone interview, lasting 30-45 minutes; phone interview was a mixture of technical and personality questions.
- Technical questions were pretty manageable at undergraduate level; Eg: Portfolio allocation for an university endowment, Diversification benefits etc
- Personality questions were much more interesting; a really good conversation with the two interviewers
2nd Round
- 2nd round was held over at the office; a half day affair. Started with one-on-one interview which drilled a lot of technicals, substantial market emphasis seeking opinions on global macro trends.
Following the one-on-one interview, a case study was conducted. 10 minutes preparation time was given; case was on advising a endowment on 1) Investment objectives 2) Asset allocation 3) Manager selection. Pretty much manageable
Last portion of the interview was an individual exercise to pick out errors from two pages investment report; and an essay. Timing given was 45 minutes for both.
3rd Round
- Interview with two Directors, more fit questions seeking out motivtation
- Then was with 4 associates, more of fit questions again
Overall great impression of how the firm conducts itself. Was pleasantly surprised that they utilised the entire front-office team throughout the 3 rounds to interact with the candidate.
