Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
I got in touch with the firm's recruiter through a friend and he contacted me very quickly for a phone interview after I had sent in my resume. The phone interview was short and consisted of fit questions only. I was soon afterwards asked to go to their offices for a group interview with their two analysts. This interview was also very short and extremely easy; the only semi-technical question was "describe the basics of the private equity industry." Other than that, it was more fit questions.
Both interviewers were very polite and engaging people to talk to; they were both fairly young and seemed to act as my peers rather than as my superiors. The offices, especially those of the partners, were beautiful.
