Analyst Interview - Generalist
Set up a call with one of the associates. Learned about the firm and assessed my fit
Interview process:
Had a phone interview with one of the Senior Bankers (all behavior and background question) no questions regarding like "Tell me about a time?" more just a focus on understanding who I was
Following that had a 1 on 1 interview with an MD he really wanted to know my background, understanding of what I thought investment banking was, running through my resume and what drives me
Following that interview, I had another one-on-one with the VP and this was a technical interview focused on valuations, brainteasers, and accounting questions
After completing that Interview I was invited to meet all the Senior bankers and founder at dinner
Then maybe a week later I received a phone call with an offer letter.
From start to finish process was probably 2 weeks 3 max. With all the interviews spanning 1 week.
For future candidates, some advice I would give is to make an outreach through LinkedIn or cold email this shows initiative that I would now look for when adding future analyst. Also, be prepared I think it was key to my success that I had already done several 1:1 from cold emails, prepared for technicals, and was able to run through my resume
