The number you see in the middle of the doughnut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few interview insights). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview

Applied through a recruitment agency. Had an initial interview with HR/Operations, very straight forward, just about motivations and experience - more checking fit.

This was followed by a one-on-one with a VP

Interview Questions

Quite a lot of technical questions - lots on equity value and enterprise value - how to calculate diluted shares outstanding etc.
had to walk through various valuation methodologies - dcf, lbo, comps, precedent transactions

ran a lot over my experience - what deals i had worked on in quite a lot of detail, exactly what my role, what was good what was bad. again a lot about valuation an how I overcame certain obstacles

plus all the general questions on motivation, background, why M&A, why us etc.

Interview

Was invited to the office for a 30 minute 1 on 1 interivew. Doesn't seem like there were too many 1st rounds but then again I didn't make second round.

Started interviewing quite late for summer internships. They pay well but is a known sweatshop.

Interview Questions

What is goodwill?

Be careful how you answer. I said a lot about goodwill (ie check for impairment, etc.) which is great but does lead to tougher questions. See below.
Walking through an LBO scenario. So Let's say you have x equity, and do an LBO at y EV/EBITDA for a planned hold of z years. After z years, let's keep it simple and say that zero debt has been paid down. What is the expected IRR for this transaction?

I actually prepared for this and answered correctly although it didn't get me to the next round. I think fit is much more important and it's hard to define fit. More of a connection with interviewer type of thing.
