Asset Management Analyst

I was contact by a recruiter about this open position. I was working in real estate acquisitions at the time and this role was for asset management. My resume went over to their team for review and I was selected for an interview. Scheduled it for the following week.

My phone interview was with the hiring manager, a VP in the asset management group. We went over the usual things in an interview, "tell me about yourself", "walk me through your resume" etc. Some of the real meat of the conversation centered around a few points. She wanted to know why I wanted to move from the acquisitions side of things to the asset management side. She also wanted some examples of when I had forecasted property level operations and what assumptions I made that were different that what we originally predicted. How did the results differ from what we had forecasted and why. She also asked some very general questions about my deal experience, which was easy to talk about.

The interview went very well. She mentioned that they were also interviewing other candidates for the position, and they wanted to bring me in the following week to meet the rest of the team. Hiring decisions would be made after the second round of interviews. I followed up the next day and a few days after I was called back and informed that they had given an offer to another candidate who had worked with Capri in the past.
