First stage was an initial consultation with the recruiter who saw my niche expertise was a good fit for a small sub-team fund for their client. The first stage was therefore about impressing the recruiter enough by illustrating my passion for the space and role as well as communicating my understanding of the firm and the career trajectory that I wanted to pursue.

Second stage consisted of 2 interviews. One with a partner/MD which discussed more questions around fit, previous experience and goals. The second interview was with their senior analyst, and discussed my experience and then delving into the more technical aspects of deals I have worked on, particularly around modelling.

Third stage I met with more members of the team, including another partner and a VP. This had a slight technical focus, but again was centered mainly around transactions I have worked on, view on the asset class and industry and then some investment idea questions.
