Corporate banking Interview - Corporate Banking
Second interview: A technical and behavioral interview with a senior team member, covering my previous experience, finance knowledge, valuation concepts, and interest in investment banking.
Third interview: An in-person interview with a senior banker, which was more in-depth and focused on technical questions, deal experience, problem-solving, and assessing whether I would fit within the team.
I was asked to explain the company's revenue growth, identify the main drivers of profitability, and discuss which income statement items had the greatest impact on net income. We then moved to the balance sheet, where I was asked to explain changes in key assets, liabilities, and equity, and how these reflected the company's financial position and overall financial health.
Finally, the discussion shifted to credit analysis. Based on my assessment of the financial statements, I was asked whether I would recommend granting debt to the company and to justify my decision. I also had to discuss the types of financial covenants I would include in the loan agreement, such as leverage ratios, interest coverage ratios, minimum liquidity requirements, and restrictions on additional indebtedness or dividend distributions.
