Interview
There was a posting on my school's careers site. I had to upload a resume only. I waited a couple of weeks and then found out I was selected for OCR. The interview was with a former FDLPer and a director, both from the Houston office. There were about ten behavioral/ getting to know you type questions and maybe seven or eight simple accounting and finance questions. Pretty typical stuff. I got a call a couple weeks later saying I missed the cut for round two. They gave me a little feedback on my interview, which is not all that common to do from what I've heard.
Interview Questions
Where do you see yourself five and ten years down the road?
What are your thoughts on living abroad for four plus years?
What is the difference between net income and cash flows?
Where do you think Chevron makes most of its money?

Interview
I was referred to by a current employee at Chevron to begin the process. I had an initial phone interview in the Fall of my Senior year at college, which consisted mainly of behavioral questions and a few technical questions. The second interview was in San Ramon and I met with 3 different Finance Managers, lasting about a half day total. I was then given an offer in about 2 weeks after interviewing, which I accepted.
Interview Questions
Describe the difference between depreciating and amortizing an asset as it relates to the Oil & Gas business
When would you need to capitalize something vs. expensing it?
The other interview questions were mostly behavioral questions. Some examples are: tell me about a time where you had to lead a team? In the case of a disgruntled team member, what are some of the actions you took? Why do you want to work in Corporate Finance for a multinational corporation? What are your key values that you believe you will carry with you during your time at the company?
