I did a couple of cold calls/emails with Associate/VP level bankers at the firm, and was referred into the internship process. I was contacted immediately (the day after) submitting my application online and scheduled a phone interview. About a week after the interview I was called in for a superday.

Both the superday and the phone interview mostly pertained to fit, with very few technical questions. The most technical question I fielded was walking them through an LBO model, albeit on a basic level. There were more questions revolving around a true understanding of accounting/financial statements. The most unusual part of the process was the writing test, but the subject matter was not difficult (defending an investment).
