Investment Banking Associate

The initial recruitment came through CIBC hosting a number of competitions at the school, participation and podium finishes were rewarded with invite-only exposure to their next recruiting events. Overall CIBC made many efforts to reach out and be available to the student body. The relatively prominent alumni presence helped the students get exposure to their team oriented culture. Unlike other banks, CIBC hosted the following:
- Info session
- IB competition event
- How to interview info session
- Meet the Associates - feedback from recent grads & interns

Once the info sessions were done, this was the hiring proccess:
- Invited to private networking session at headoffice, met with different groups in different divisions
- First round interview with 3 senior associates
- Invited to second networking session with more senior bankers
- second round interview was a series of 1 on 1s with EDs, MDs
