Investment Banking Associate

First round was with an associate and covered basic behaviourals and technicals (very standard BIWS-type technicals). Behaviourals were around why I wanted to make the move to a Canadian Big 5 from a global bank.

Second round was with two other senior associate / VP-level which had an analyst accompany them on calls to ask simple accretion / dilution-type technicals along with standard behaviorals.

Following these two rounds was the case study, where you were given a weekend to evaluate an M&A deal and put together a pitch deck recommending for / against with supporting DCF / comps / precedents analysis.

This was then followed by a superday where I met with 3-4 director+ levels - some asked questions on the case while some completely ignored it and kept things behavioral.

Final round was with head of the team in-office - 10 minute conversation.

Overall team seemed nice but consensus take was that it was quite busy - particularly with work in the energy, infrastructure, and transition (EIT) space.
