Interview
Applied to Cinven via an online job posting site. After the CV screening, I got called back for an interview. First part was a 40min case study on a healthcare company in Central Europe. I was given the latest annual report and a set of task to be completed via Excel and to be presented on PowerPoint. Then I had a 1:1 interview with an associated (c. 1h) both technical on the case study and motivation about my previous experiences and motivations to join Cinven. Overall, it has been a positive experience and it had not been extremely difficult
Interview Questions
I was asked specific questions about the multiples, such as EV/EBITDA EV/EBIT EV/Sales. Among them, what is the treatment of NCI and of investment in associates companies. Also, I was asked to complete a simplified paper LBO exercise with standard set of assumptions (revenue growth, EBITDA margins etc) and non circular debt (ie bullet repayment). In addition, I was asked qualitative questions about an LBO, such as: main value creation drivers, main criteria to select a good candidate and so on
