Interview Details

What did the interview consist of?
Phone Interview
Group Interview
Skills Test
Personality Test
Drug Test
Background Check
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
First there was a phone call - all fit questions.
One on one with an analyst in person - a little more technical then the phone but not bad. Asked questions about market derivatives, counter party risk(margin), and computer skills.
Final round was two senior managers in person - more technical; talked more in depth about my knowledge of trading strategies.
What were the most difficult or unexpected interview questions asked?
None - It was pretty straight forward. They did ask some brain teasers though which i will add. If you are going into the derivatives sector and don't know what a derivative is then you probably should research it on your own time.

A.) 10 foot rope ladder hangs over the side of a boat with the bottom rung on the surface of the water. The rungs are one foot apart, and the tide goes up at the rate of 6 inches per hour. How long will it be until three rungs are covered?

Another question I don't hear too often:

B.)How did you prep for this interview?

C.) What is your favorite product on our slate and why?
How did you answer each of these questions (please be specific)?
A.)Never. The boat rises as the tide goes up.

B.)I just said I didn't have to do anything special as I was already passionate about derivatives and knew of the firm before I applied for the job. I also through in that I got in a good night of sleep for comedic relief for what it's worth.

C.) check out this link before you go in http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/products/ - it will answer all of your questions about the products that they exchange.

Other then that you will get hit with pretty straight forward questions.

Overall Ranking

Overall Ranking is a score from 1 star (very bad) to 5 stars (excellent) generated based on the Company Reviews of current and former employees at this company, taking everything into account.

The number you see in the middle of the donut pie chart is the simple average of these scores. If you hover over the various sections of the donut, you will see the % breakdown of each score given.

The percentile score in the title is calculated across the entire Company Database and uses an adjusted score based on Bayesian Estimates (to account for companies that have few reviews). Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.
