1st Year Financial Analyst

Most people are hired through employee referrals or from university career offices (mainly the American University of Beirut and the Lebanese American University). The hiring process usually takes about 2 to 4 weeks, depending on how badly they need someone. It starts off with an interview with the HR person (she is also the senior partner's assistant), and another interview with the director directly afterwards. Most of the time, if the director likes you, you will be asked to see the senior analyst (3rd year analyst) or associate - this will help the interviewee with figuring out the company's culture, and will help the company in making sure the interviewee fits with said culture. After passing this round, interviewees will be asked to sit for a technical test, which entails building a basic financial model from a given list of assumptions, preparing a small pitch deck and translating text from arabic to english or vice versa. Interviewees will get 15 minutes to read the assumptions and ask any questions that might help them complete the model (additional information is needed to complete the assignment). If they pass, interviewees will be asked to sit for a final interview with one of the partners (usually the senior partner), and will hear back in 1 to 2 weeks.
